Gujarati film Kale Lagan Chhe !?!, directed by Humayun Makrani, is scheduled to release on November 7. The movie brings together actors Parikshit Tamalia and Pooja Joshi, who previously worked together in ‘I and You’. This upcoming project revolves around a wedding backdrop but incorporates situational comedy, drama, and suspense into its narrative.
The film features an ensemble cast, including Anurag Prapann, Deepika Rawal, Mehul Vyas, Mir Hanif, Maulik Pathak, and Umesh Barot, alongside the lead pair. Anurag Prapann, known for his comedic roles in theatre and cinema, plays a key character. Singer Umesh Barot also appears in a special role.
Produced under the HGPictures banner by Haresh Patel, Ruchit Patel, and Sanjay Desai, the project has ties to Gujarati filmmaking traditions. Haresh Patel, son of veteran filmmaker Govindbhai Patel, continues his family’s involvement in the industry with this production.
According to director Humayun Makrani, the casting of Parikshit and Pooja stemmed from their chemistry in his earlier project I and You, making them ideal for the roles of Ayush and Ishika.
Set against a road trip backdrop, the film explores themes of family dynamics, personal relationships, and unexpected twists. Shot across Gujarat, Kale Lagan Che !?! features picturesque rural locations woven into its storyline.
Both lead actors expressed their thoughts about their involvement in the project. Parikshit Tamalia noted his appreciation for the opportunity to portray diverse characters, following his performance in the film Interview. For Pooja Joshi, the role marked a return to comedy, a genre she started her career with in shows like This Family Comedy Hai.
With its narrative built around familial themes and situational humor, Kale Lagan Che !?! is expected to attract family audiences during the Diwali vacation period. It remains to be seen how the film will be received in a season traditionally filled with festive releases.
